About The Tin Lizard

Longwood Oct 08 Steve 3Having spent most of my working life dealing with "serious" matters like politics, the economy, national security and such, I think of The Tin Lizard as a way to explore the "lighter side" - the stuff of everyday life.

Experts say a blog should be sharply targeted on one little niche, but my interests are too varied for that.  Here, you'll find comments on the quirky and the curious bits of the day's news, thoughts on cooking and home repair, consumer issues including product reviews, reviews of books/theater/restaurants/products, notes on the English (American) language, a bit of humor from time to time, and who knows what else.

The Tin Lizard (he's actually made of steel) - a well crafted but whimsical piece of art - represents this approach.
