People - even journalists - naturally can get all tongue-tied when they're in front of a camera. When they do, they often reveal how frequently the impossible actually happens in everyday life. Some examples below (apologies if one or two of these have been seen before in this space - I discovered some old notes and I'm not sure if I used them or not:
Stay Out of Those Ambulances: Man being interviewed for television: "...and the next thing I knew I was in an ambulance, having a heart attack."
Zombie Cops. Reporter describing an accident in which a police officer and civilians died: "the family was in turn killed when they were struck by the deceased police officer."
Maybe If Your Bargain They'll Try For Something Else. Actor in a TV drama: "there's just been an assassination attempt on his life!"
He Must Have Crawled Under It. Reporter describing casualties after a storm: "he was killed by a fallen tree."
